What is your background/ experience with ISCG and what are you currently doing?

I got involved with ISCG during my penultimate year in university. I attended a host of ISCG events and got the opportunity to network with a lot of like-minded students, not just in Trinity but other major colleges in Ireland.

I am currently working as a Business Analyst for Vox Financial Partners in New York. The work is challenging and dynamic but my experience in ISCG undoubtedly helped prepare me for these challenges and opportunities. Being involved in a student consulting group such as ISCG certainly helped develop the skill set needed to work in an international consulting environment.

What did you enjoy most/find most beneficial about ISCG?

I personally benefited from the network ISCG provided. I regularly got the chance to engage with other students who shared similar interests but had very different backgrounds and skillsets. This is something that I struggled to get in group projects/course work throughout university.

From my time in ISCG I’m truly fortunate to have met peers who I know, I can call and bounce ideas off and get another perspective when faced with challenges. Leaving university is an exciting time but it is even more inspiring when you embark on the journey with friends with similar ambitions as your own. A special shout out to my mentor and now (I hope he doesn’t mind me saying this) a friend for life in Louis McConkey. He was a project leader in my final year in university and he set an example for everyone in ISCG in terms of work ethic, determination and creativity.

How do you think your experience with ISCG has helped you generally and/or in your career?

It gave me a greater insight into the professional standards that are paramount in consulting firms and investment banks. I also feel it helped with working in diverse groups.

Regardless of your career ambitions, I would definitely recommend getting involved with ISCG in some capacity during university as you would be amazed at how many opportunities it can provide for you.
